Departing after the Super Bowl?
SJC is known for curb to gate in minutes, but with the Big Game it could be busier than usual. About two hours before, we recommend that you check your bag and head to security – it should leave plenty of time to enjoy a bite and relax before you fly.
If you have a Super Bowl program, remember to take it to the checkpoint for screening, do not place it in your checked bag. It can set off alarms and create delays.

Heads Up, Travelers: TSA Updates
Starting Feb. 1, 2026, travelers without a REAL ID or acceptable ID may use TSA ConfirmID for a $45 fee to attempt identity verification (not guaranteed). The process takes about 10-30 minutes and is valid for up to 10 days from the travel date. TSA recommends enrolling and paying in advance to avoid delays.
TSA PreCheck® passengers can skip the ID handoff. Eligible TSA PreCheck members flying with participating airlines can now opt in to facial recognition with TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID – no need to present a physical ID. Enrollment via your airline’s mobile app.

Keeping Travelers Safe: Human Trafficking Awareness
January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month, and SJC is strengthening its efforts through a new partnership with Freedom Insight (formerly the Bay Area Anti-Trafficking Coalition).
