The Cozy Quintet is a breakout group of the Cupertino Symphonic Band: Nancy (retired school teacher) on flute, Bob (retired engineer and spouse of Nancy) on French horn, Elizabeth (retired nurse) on oboe, Rachel (technical writer) on clarinet, and Chris (software engineer) on trombone. (Wait! Did you say trombone? Shouldn’t that be a bassoon?) Together the Cozy Quintet, so named for practicing in their tiny living rooms, have a combined almost 100 years in the Cupertino Symphonic Band and longer than that playing their musical instruments. Catch us practicing chamber music at a nearby park or look for us in our larger ensemble, the Cupertino Symphonic Band, which performs half a dozen concerts annually.
