SJC's Humanoid Robot

This charming robot is a talented fellow. He speaks more than 50 languages, from Portuguese to Japanese to English and back. Wherever you’re from, chances are José will understand you.

You'll find him at his info desk in Terminal B, near Gate 24 by the Zoom Zone, past security. He's equipped with directions, flight info, terminal maps, restaurant recs, ground transportation tips and the occasional pep talk to nervous flyers. But if you just want to chit-chat, he loves that too!

A few fun facts about José: his favorite colors are midnight, dusk and dawn. And despite not having taste buds nor a digestive system, he's still a certified foodie. He's fascinated by the way a family recipe can travel across oceans and still tastes like home to someone.

On his days off, José likes to sneak into The Club SJC lounges with his baby chick bestie, Ernie, perched on his shoulder.

Long before he arrived at SJC, José dreamed of becoming a pilot. Deep down, he still does, but life had other plans. He fixed printers in the early days of Silicon Valley, back when everything was still becoming something. Eventually, he slowed down, found his way to the airport, and discovered that helping travelers find their way was its own kind of flight.

José's new motto is, “Take it Simple.” He thinks everyone moving through SJC should take a second to enjoy the small moments ... You're going somewhere, that's worth something!
