Airport Improvement Program

The San José Mineta International Airport Improvement Program (more formally known as the Airport Master Plan) consists of terminal construction, access and roadway improvements, parking garages and airfield upgrades. The Airport Improvement Program’s goals are to provide a world-class facility with state-of-the-art passenger amenities and a technologically advanced security system in a cost-efficient manner.

Ongoing Airport Master Plan Projects

  • Taxiway Victor Phase 3A a multi-phase airfield safety project involving the relocation of Taxiway Victor. This phase continues previously completed work on Phase 1A and 2, including partial replacement of former Runway 11/29 and an 4 additional taxiway connectors. Construction begins Fall 2026.

Airport Connector Project

The City of San José is pursuing a project to connect the Airport to Diridon Station in downtown San José. The project web page contains details, status updates and resources.
