Public Transit in San José: How to Get from SJC to Downtown, Levi’s® Stadium & More

Flying into SJC and wondering how to get around? From sports arenas to downtown hotspots, our Airport connects you easily to the heart of Silicon Valley with affordable and convenient public transit options.  

Here are a few quick, step-by-step guides to help you travel from SJC to Downtown San José, SAP Center, Levi’s® Stadium and PayPal Park.

SJC to Downtown San José (City Hall, Convention Center, etc.)

Downtown San Jose

Transit time: 25-35 minutes

  1. Take VTA Route 60 from either terminal to the Metro/Airport light rail station.
  2. From there, board the VTA Blue or Green Line heading into Downtown San José.
  3. Stop at Saint James or Convention Center Station to reach major attractions.

💡Tip: The light rail drops you near plenty of local coffee shops, restaurants and hotels.  Try out VTA’s Trip Planner for more detailed instructions for routes.

SJC to SAP Center

SAP Center

Transit time: 30-40 minutes

  1. From either terminal, hop on VTA Route 60 (Airport Flyer) to the Santa Clara Transit Center.
  2. Transfer to VTA Bus 22 or take Caltrain, ACE or Amtrak to San José Diridon Station, located right across from SAP Center (home of the San José Sharks).

💡Tip: Check Caltrain's schedules in advance for express service, it’ll save time on event days.

SJC to Levi’s® Stadium

Levi's Stadium

Transit time: 45-60 minutes

  1. From the Airport, take VTA Route 60 toward Milpitas BART.
  2. Transfer at the Metro/Airport station to the VTA Green Line light rail.
  3. Ride to Great America Station, located right next to Levi’s® Stadium (home of the San Francisco 49ers and the big international soccer and championship football games in 2026!)

💡Tip: On game or concert days, allow extra travel time as trains may be crowded.

SJC to PayPal Park

PayPal Park

Transit time: 20–30 minutes

This one is simple!

  1. Take VTA Route 60 directly from either terminal to Coleman Avenue & Earthquakes Way; right in front of PayPal Park (home of the San José Earthquakes).

💡Tip: You’ll pass by great local eats along Coleman Avenue, perfect for a pre-game bite.

 

Rideshare & Other Options

Prefer door-to-door service?

App-based rideshare pickups are available at designated zones outside each terminal. Just follow the “App-Based Rideshare” signs after baggage claim for Uber, Lyft, Waymo, Tesla, Turoor Wingz pickups.
