SJC Employees Clean Up Guadalupe River Area

Our employees really are superstars. On May 20, 2023, as part of National River Clean-Up Day, members of SJC's Planning & Development Division collected more than 400 pounds of trash around the Guadalupe River.

The Guadalupe River crosses through downtown San José. The Guadalupe River Trail runs adjacent to the SJC airfield and the Guadalupe Gardens, located south of the Airport. The river runs three miles past San José Mineta International Airport, which was originally built on top of the river system in the late 1930s. It is an important natural resource for the community, and the City of San José is constantly working to protect the river from flooding and pollution.

As an environmental leader, SJC supports the Guadalupe River Trail and works to ensure it's clean and enjoyable. Together with Valley Water, Santa Clara County's Water District and Clean Creeks, our team is facilitating a better future for both wildlife and our local community.
