San José, Calif. – San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) has been recognized as the second-least stressful airport in the United States in a study by Rightway Parking, highlighting SJC as a convenient option for travelers flying to and from Silicon Valley.
The study evaluated 55 major U.S. airports using factors including flight delays, cancellations, changes in delay trends and driving distance and time from downtown. SJC ranked second overall, behind Salt Lake City International Airport.
“This recognition reinforces SJC’s commitment to providing travelers with a convenient, dependable, and welcoming airport experience,” said San José City Manager Jennifer Maguire. “Located near downtown San José and the heart of Silicon Valley, SJC serves as a gateway for business and leisure travelers throughout the region.”
“It’s no surprise to San Joséans that SJC provides a consistently simple and efficient experience,” said San José Mayor Matt Mahan. “But now we get to share it with the world — the best medium-sized airport in the nation is also one of the most stress-free.”
“With curb-to-gate access in minutes, Premium Reserved Parking, SJC Happy Tails therapy animals, the Sunflower Lanyard program, CLEAR biometric eGates, a robust volunteer program featuring SJC Live artists and performers and a forthcoming sensory-friendly room, SJC offers a range of services and amenities designed to make travel simpler and more comfortable,” said Mookie Patel, director of aviation at San José Mineta International Airport. “We’re committed to building on these offerings to make the passenger experience easier while connecting Silicon Valley to destinations around the world.”
