Next stop: The Queen City!

American Airlines just announced plans to resume daily, nonstop flights between Mineta San José International Airport (SJC) and its hub at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) starting this October.

We’re excited to see another long-distance flight to the East Coast offered at SJC, especially during a time when operational challenges have forced many airlines to reduce their flight offerings. American’s San José-Charlotte flights are perfectly timed for Bay Area travelers to make connections on to popular winter destinations across Florida, the Caribbean and Central America. Who’s ready to book a trip for the holidays?

American plans to operate these flights with Airbus A321 aircraft. The airline last flew nonstop between SJC and North Carolina’s biggest city in 2018.

Flight schedules, fares and booking are now available at aa.com. Learn more about SJC’s nonstop destination options at flysanjose.com/nonstop-destinations.

Fun Fact About Charlotte, NC
It's the pimento cheese capital of the world!

That’s right, in 1953, a family-owned kitchen on Wilkinson Blvd. began mass producing and selling pimento cheese. Ruth's Salads is now the top pimento cheese producer in the country and makes 45,000 pounds per week! This might be why almost every restaurant in Charlotte features some sort of variation, from pimento cheese fries to pimento cheese topped burgers. Yum! Credit: OnlyInYourState.com
