- Airlines Will Stop Boarding Passengers at Boarding Gates 15 Minutes before Scheduled Departures

HOURS » SJC is open 24 hours with passenger access available outside the secured areas in each terminal. Airport services begin operations at 5:00 a.m. and security checkpoint operations begin at 4:15 a.m. For airline ticket counter hours, please view the Airlines page.
ARRIVAL TIME » It is recommended that you arrive 2 hours prior to scheduled departures for domestic flights, and 3 hours prior to scheduled departure for international flights.
SECURITY WAIT TIMES » Check Security Wait times before you get to the Airport. Please visit the TSA Security Wait Times site to look up the average wait times for any of SJC's security checkpoints.
CURB SIDE CHECK-IN » Curb side baggage check-in is available on an airline by airline basis. Check your airline.
DROP-OFF/ PICK-UP » In front of the terminals and alternate location.
SERVICES FOR THE DISABLED » Services throughout the Airport to assist disabled travelers or airport visitors.
BICYCLES AND PEDESTRIANS » Access information to/through the Airport.
CARRY-ONS » Passengers are limited to one carry-on bag and one personal item (a purse, briefcase or laptop).
LAPTOPS » Passengers carrying on laptop computers are required to remove the computer from its case for inspection at security checkpoints.

SURRENDERED ITEMS/VOLUNTARILY ABANDONED PROPERTY »
All prohibited items surrendered at the security checkpoints are routinely collected by representatives of a company contracted by TSA and are ultimately recycled, destroyed or donated.

ELECTRONIC DEVICES » All cell phones and pagers will need to pass through the x-ray detector for screening.
CAMERA EQUIPMENT » All camera equipment is subject to search. Film is exempt from the x-ray detector. However, it must be physically inspected and swabbed by the Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) machine. When you arrive at the Security Checkpoint, please notify the TSA personnel if you have undeveloped film.
UNATTENDED VEHICLES » Unattended vehicles at curb side will be cited and towed away immediately.
TERMINAL ACCESS » Only ticketed passengers allowed past security checkpoints.
IDENTIFICATION » Photo I.D. will be required at multiple locations.
