SJC Airport Badging Appointments



All appointments require 2 forms of acceptable identification along with an application signed by an Authorized Signatory unless otherwise stated below. For a list of acceptable identification and/or an application, please visit our Airport Badging website.

Due to the high volume of appointments in a day, we are no longer able to assist customers on a walk in basis except for
Badge Replacement (Lost/Broken Badges).

Testing Appointments

Other Badging Appointments (10 to 20 minutes each)

  • TRANSLATING SERVICES - All Badges

    Testing is required every 2 years.
    Testing time: up to 3 hours
    Applicant must have a letter from an Authorized Signatory stating who will Translate. The translator must have an equivelant or higher level of badge media. Both the translator and applicant must be on time.

  • SIDA BADGE TEST/ FINGERPRINTING

    Testing is required every 2 years.
    Testing time: up to 2 hours

  • SIDA BADGE TEST with RAMP DRIVING/ FINGERPRINTING

    Testing is required every 2 years.
    Testing time: up to 2.5 hours

  • SIDA BADGE TEST-FIRST ALARM or WITH MAOP/ FINGERPRINTING

    Annual testing is required.
    Testing time: up to 3 hours

    Testing time: up to 1.5 hours.

    Testing is required every 2 years.
    Testing time: from 40 minutes (City GA Tenants only) to 1.5 hours (all other tenants)

  • FINGERPRINT ONLY

    An applicant applying for a new SJC badge. Services include fingerprinting only (no testing).

  • 6 MONTH RENEWAL

    6 Month Renewal is for those who were issued a new badge 6 months prior to the expiration date. No testing required.

  • PICK UP A BADGE OR VTA ECO PASS

    Picking up a badge is for those who completed testing and need to pick up their badge only. Two forms of valid identification are required.

    To pick up an Eco Pass, please bring your completed application.

  • ADDING ESCORT ICON

    To add the escort icon onto a current active badge. An escort request form must be filled out and submitted 24 hours in advance.

  • ADDING CUSTOMS SEAL

    To add the customs seal icon onto a current active badge. A customs letter from the tenant along with a customs application and two forms of identification are required.

  • AUTHORIZED SIGNATORY TRAINING

    Authorized Signatory Training is for current authorized signatories only. This training is required annually.

  • BADGE REPLACEMENT (LOST/BROKEN BADGES)

    Additional Requirements: A letter from the Authorized Signatory authorizing the replacement and establishing payment responsibility.
    Cost: $140 per badge replacement. (No Appointment Neccessary)

  • SWAPPING TENANTS

    Swapping Tenants is to start the process to swap badge from one tenant to another. Includes fingerprints if needed.

  • LEGAL NAME CHANGE

    This appointment is to provide proof of a legal name change. A new security threat assessment must be completed before the legal name change is printed on the badge. A secondary appointment to pick up the badge is required once the STA has cleared. Proof of legal name change and a new application is required.
