Volaris Airlines Comes to San José Airport
First new SJC carrier in five years;
flight to Guadalajara starts April 30

SAN JOSE --- Volaris Airlines has announced it will inaugurate direct service between San
José and Guadalajara, Mexico, beginning Friday, April 30. This marks the first new airline
starting service at Mineta San Jose International Airport since Hawaiian Airlines launched its Honolulu flight in October 2005.

“Volaris is an outstanding addition that will provide more air service and travel choices
for our community,” said San José Mayor Chuck Reed. “Their arrival reflects the superior
convenience, comfort, and efficiency that our beautiful new airport now offers to passengers and airlines alike. We look forward to the long-term success and growth of Volaris in San José.”

Volaris has scheduled its daily Guadalajara flight to arrive in San Jose at 11:25 a.m. and
depart at 12:35 p.m. The new flights are available for booking immediately through all the
Volaris distribution channels available to clients.

“San José is quite an attraction for Mexicans traveling to the U.S. for pleasure, business,
or to visit family and friends,” said Enrique Beltranena, Volaris chief executive officer. “The Hispanic market makes up about 30% of the total population in San Jose, and we’re certain that we’ll soon gain momentum with our clients as we did when we launched U.S. service last year.”

San José becomes the 25th airport in the Volaris network of routes serving Mexico and the United States. According to Volaris, the airline’s board of directors also expressed its appreciation for the support and collaboration from the airport and the community in San Jose during the route planning and approval process.
